- Analysis and remediation of casting defects
- Microstructure-properties relationships in cast alloys
- Molten metal treatment and delivery – degassing, filtration, trough design, SEM
- Multimode transport phenomena modeling of full-scale casting processes (cooling curves, fluid flow, macrosegregation, electromagnetic effects)
- Thermodynamics and kinetics modeling of microstructure development in casting processes (microsegregation, solidification paths, phase equilibria, phase selection)
